Career Alert: Cyber Security Jobs are on the Rise in India
09-Jul-2018

According to a research, there are over 15,000 unfilled positions for cybersecurity-related job roles. The demand trend will increasingly grow with the rise of Internet-enabled platforms. The report by an outbound recruitment firm, Belong states, “As companies seek to bolster their defense against data security breaches, the demand for cybersecurity experts in India has outstripped supply of these professionals by three times over the past 12 months.”

The research is based on data from online postings by companies looking to hire cyber professionals. Organizations are on a hiring spree to secure their data and systems. Belong’s co-founder, Rishabh Kaul said, “With the demand escalating, there may also be rise a in expats hiring, especially for the mid-level or senior level roles where experience is needed. There is also a possibility of companies hiring a senior level professional, who will be based in some other country, to lead a team here in the country.”

As the technology is changing at a rapid speed, many companies have started focusing on cybersecurity. These companies also get involved in training talent to reduce this demand-supply gap. The entry-level jobs are available for ethical hackers as well. Certification courses in ethical hacking can easily help job seekers in getting hired.

Companies working in a business critical domains like BFSI have set cybersecurity as their top priority for this year. The talent crunch in cybersecurity is so bad that top IT firms including TCS, Wipro, Infosys are getting involved in training the existing talent to reduce this demand-supply gap.
