LG unveils three mid-range smartphones

LG has unveiled three new mid-range Android smartphones -- L40, L70 and L90 -- under its L Series III. The South Korean giant is expected to showcase the new L Series III phones at the upcoming Mobile World Congress along with G Pro 2 and G2 mini smartphones.

All three new phones will come with Android 4.4 KitKat, the latest version of the OS.

LG L40 sports a 3.5-inch display (320 X 480p) and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 512MB RAM. It comes with 4GB internal storage expandable via microSD card, and a 1,700mAh or 1,540mAh removable battery, depending on the market. The phone sports a 3MP rear camera.

The LG L70 sports a 4.5-inch display (400 X 800p) and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 1GB RAM. It comes with 4GB internal storage expandable via microSD card, and a 2,100mAh removable battery. The phone will sport an 8MP or 5MP rear camera depending on the market and a VGA front facing camera.

The LG L90 sports a 4.7-inch display (540 X 960p) and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 1GB RAM. It comes with 8GB internal storage expandable via microSD card, and a 2,540mAh removable battery. The phone will sport an 8MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front camera.

Pricing and availability details related to the phones are expected to be announced at the MWC in Barcelona which starts February 24.
