Satya Nadella acclaims advancements in India
28-Mar-2018

"Each time I visit, it is incredible to see the advancements taking place in India," said Satya Nadella, Indian origin Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.

The effective application of technology to make a difference in society across private and public sectors remains India’s pressing challenge, he said while addressing Kerala’s Global Digital Summit #Future through video conference.

He cited how AI (Artificial Intelligence) is being utilized in healthcare organizations for early detection of cardiac diseases and farmers and rural areas across the country are empowered with more data for the better understanding of weather and soil conditions in the direction of increasing crop yield.

The head of Microsoft said every time he visited India, he saw advancements happening in a rapid speed.

Also, Nadella pointed out that the schools are using cloud and AI to predict what students are at risk of dropping out so that they can intervene. Local governments across India are utilizing Kaizala, a mobile communications application, to enable government workers and improve citizen service.

"We don’t celebrate technology for technology’s sake, we celebrate what others are empowered to do with that technology. At Microsoft, our mission is to empower every person and every organisation on the planet to achieve more," he said.

Further, Nadella highlighted that an event like #Future would inspire to make a difference in the world by bringing top leaders of knowledge industry, academics and influencers at single podium.

"And that’s what I hope you would inspire to do after this event. To dream, create and build the solutions that will transform your organisations, your communities and make a difference in the world," he included.
