Google offers Rs 1.2 crore salary to Bengaluru student for AI team

A 22-year old from Bengaluru has bagged a salary package of Rs 1.2 crore per year from Google. The company has hired this student of integrated MTech program at the International Institute of Information and Technology Bengaluru (IIITB) for its Artificial Intelligence team.

The search engine giant conducted a global test for a researcher’s position in its AI team. Over 6,000 students had participated in the global test. IIIT-B student, Aditya Paliwal was selected through the global test. Google has offered an impressive salary package of Rs 1.2 crore per annum to Aditya.

Paliwal, who hails from Mumbai said, “Google conducted a global test for their research in Artificial Intelligence Technology where more than 6,000 students participated and 50 were selected. I was really happy when I got the offer from Google. I hope to learn new things during my tenure.”

Aditya was also among finalists of ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) which was conducted in 2017 and 2018. ICPC is a prestigious competition that is conducted each year for programming enthusiasts. This year, more than 50,000 students from 111 countries and 2098 universities across the world had participated in the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC).

Paliwal gives the credit for his achievement to the institute. He said that the facility provided to him in Bengaluru encouraged him to excel and support innovative ideas. His seniors at the institute played a key role in helping him out. Other than programming, Paliwal is fond of driving and sports including soccer and cricket.

Companies across the world are increasingly hiring top talent in emerging domains such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and blockchain. Google is known for offering top pay-package for the right talent. The salary package offered to Paliwal sets a benchmark.
