The Chinese tech giant, Alibaba is not only rapidly gaining popularity in the e-commerce space but is also expanding rapidly in the cloud services space. Alibaba Cloud, now has announced its plans to train 1000 techies in India over the next six months.
Alibaba Group’s cloud computing arm, Alibaba Cloud, offers a high-performance cloud platform for software firms around the world. The company has presence across 18 economic centers in the world. Alibaba Cloud is present in 47 zones including Europe, India, some parts of the U.S., Hong Kong, China, Singapore, etc.
The company provides services and products to customers in India in sectors including gaming, retail, media, and retail. Alibaba relies on the network of hundreds of distributors to offer its services. To meet the high-rising demand for its services from Indian firms, Alibaba has set up its first India data center in Mumbai.
At India Eco Summit in Delhi, Alibaba Cloud announced its new distribution channel program. The distribution program motivates Alibaba partners to bring in the technical knowledge to educate the customers. The event was attended by HCL Infosystems Ltd, one of its major distributors in India. As India is ranked third with an estimated $2.12 billion spent on public cloud services, Alibaba sees a great untapped opportunity in the Indian cloud market.
In order to build the strong relationship with India’s developer ecosystem, Alibaba has planned to train 1000 technology and sales recruits over the next six months. According to Alex Li, General Manager of Alibaba Cloud Asia Pacific, with digital revolution proposing to add about $154 billion to India’s GDP (researched by Microsoft and IDC), this is a huge chance for them to do business in India.
Li also said that Alibaba Cloud will create special teams to look at various market segments and aspects such as start-ups and online businesses. The company has always been devoted to sanctioning enterprises of various sizes to tap into new opportunities in the digital era.
