India's leading GSM operator Airtel has come out with 50 MB free Internet usage for its pre-paid subscribers tomorrow.
The scheme will be available in Delhi NCR, Haryana and Kerala, which are going to polls tomorrow, from 7 am to 7 pm.
The idea, company said, is to help voters make informed choice. The initiative will help customers to go online and read about the candidates in fray before casting their votes.
"As India gears up for general Lok Sabha elections 2014, Bharti Airtel is encouraging voters to make an informed choice of candidates by offering 50 MB of free data usage for its prepaid mobile customers on the polling day from 7am to 7pm," the company said in a statement.
The statement said that voters can also leverage this free data to post pictures of their inked fingers on social networks and inspire their friends as well as family to exercise their voting rights too.
There are 150 candidates in fray in Delhi for the seven Lok Sabha seats.
At the end of February, Airtel had over 1 crore users in Delhi-NCR, 23.68 lakh in Haryana and 36.99 lakh in Kerala. On an average, 95 per cent of the users are pre-paid.
