Google won't force the convergence between Android & Chrome, two of its large platforms built for the mobile & personal computers respectively, a top company executive told The Economic Times.
Sundar Pichai, the Senior Vice President for Android, Chrome & Apps who is in India to launch its ambitious Android One program told ET in an interview, "We are letting convergence happen organically. Both platforms are successful and unique."
"We have taken the approach of not doing convergence for convergence sake," Pichai, 42 said.
In 2013 Andy Rubin who led the development of Android moved on and Pichai who was head of the Chrome platform took over. There has been speculation that the two platforms will be rolled into one.
