From a stroke to "Nintendo epilepsy", a new study has found that some gamers are so fixated on their devices that they risk life-threatening conditions.
A team of Dutch researchers found 38 injuries linked to playing Nintendo after searching two medical databases to find out it is a safe Christmas gift.
Two people had strokes after playing on the Nintendo Wii and there were some reports of seizures, but other injuries reported were more mild and linked to how the games are traditionally played with hand-held controllers. However, the study published in the British Medical Journal and covering all reports of injuries since the video games went on the market, is part of a wider, worrying trend.
