India's stake seems to be rising in Twitter's agenda. According to a report in Financial Times, the microblogging giant is planning to open a new research and design centre in Bangalore. This will be the company's first such facility outside its home country US.
This follows the company's recent acquisition of Bengaluru-based mobile marketing and analytics startup ZipDial. ZipDial will allow their company to take its Twitter feeds to large number of people who do not have smartphones, and even those who have smartphones but are frugal in their use of data.
