Reliance Jio offering 100GB of free data under Summer Surprise offer

After introducing the Summer Surprise offer, Reliance Jio is actually giving 100GB of internet more without any daily cap. However, you will have to spend a little more for that. If you have already subscribed to Reliance Jio Prime subscription, you will be asked to do a recharge in order to avail Jio services. Now technically, the plans start from Rs 19, but, the Summer Surprise offer will kick in only if you do a recharge for Rs 303 or more. If you are not aware, doing a recharge of Rs 303 or more will fetch you 3 months of more services under the same plan. For example, recharging for Rs 303 will get you 3 months of free services under that plan. So actually, the paid services which will begin starting July 2017.

However, the latest Summer Surprise offer doesn’t only give away 3 months of free services, but also 100GB of free data. The catch here is that you will have to recharge your Jio SIM with Rs 999, Rs 1999, Rs 4999 and Rs 9999. To elaborate, for Rs 999 you get usual 60GB of data for 60 days along with 1000GB of free data for the next 90 days. The offer is valid for Rs 1999, Rs 4999 and Rs 9999 as well. Note that, since Rs 999 plan come with a validity of one month, Reliance Jio has opted to go with extra 100GB under the Summer Surprise offer. Rs 303 and Rs 499 plans include a daily cap of 1GB and 2GB respectively so if you want to opt in for actual unlimited data, then this might be an option to contemplate.

Reliance Jio is also streaming Indian Premier League which kickstarted yesterday, on its app Jio TV. However, it will still eat up your daily data so be careful. On the other hand, subscription for Jio Apps like Jio TV is free for Prime members. The operator is currently offering 432 channels and Hotstar Premium services on its Jio TV app.

On the other hand, Reliance Jio is also said to hit the DTH industry. The latest leaks reveal some images which are said to be of Reliance Jio powered set top box. The image shows a normal looking set top box with Jio branding and a ‘not for sale’ sign which implies that the company is, in fact, testing the product, as of now.
