An outbound recruitment solution, Belong has published a report based on job postings by companies that recruit cyber professionals on multiple platforms. The report states, “As companies seek to bolster their defense against data security breaches, the demand for cybersecurity experts in India has outstripped supply of these professionals by three times over the past 12 months.”
The demand for cybersecurity professionals will continue to go up with the rise of Interest, e-commerce and customer awareness on cybersecurity. The report says that the companies will be on a hiring spree to secure data and systems. The demand for cybersecurity professions in tech and non-tech roles will continue to increase.
There are over 10,000 to 15,000 open positions related to cybersecurity in the industry. The demand will be triggered by the companies working in technology, banking, financial services and insurance (BSFI) sectors. Most of these jobs will be found in top 10 IT hubs such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, and Delhi.
Rishabh Kaul, the co-founder of Belong said, “With the demand escalating, there may also rise in expats hiring, especially for the mid-level or senior level roles where experience is needed. There is also a possibility of companies hiring a senior level professional, who will be based in some other country, to lead a team here in the country.”
Most tech giants are currently struggling to improve their cybersecurity expertise and measures. With the dynamically changing technologies, IT firms have started focusing on cybersecurity and retaining the tech talent in the country. IT professionals can reskill themselves to bag the newly created opportunities in cybersecurity.
