Is This the Nokia Lumia 930? is a post by Travis Pope from Gotta Be Mobile.
If a newly leaked picture is accurate than the Lumia 930, Nokia’s often-talked about upcoming flagship handset that’s said to compete directly with the Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8, really is an international version of the Lumia Icon handset Nokia released on Verizon earlier this year.
The leaked render of what’s purported to be the Lumia 930 was posted to @Eveleaks this morning, mere hours before Nokia is scheduled to detail changes coming to its Windows Phone line up at an event in San Francisco.
The picture shows a Windows Phone device with what appears to be metal edges. The device also appears to not have on-screen buttons, despite rumors that the Lumia 930 would run the Windows Phone 8.1 update that Microsoft is expected to detail at its own event before Nokia’s. The phone is shown in four different color combinations. The first two, orange and a light green, match the coloring of the entry-level Nokia X smartphone Nokia recently released last month. The other two combinations include an unpainted metal rim with a white back and a Lumia 930 with black metal rim and black rear casing.
To be clear, the Lumia 930 depicted in these photos isn’t similar to the Lumia Icon. If this is the device Nokia plans to launch than the Lumia 930 and the Lumia Icon are one in the same except the Lumia Icon is being marketed for Verizon’s network in the United States.
If the two are one in the same users can expect the identical internal features. Presumably, that means that the Lumia 930 includes the 20 megapixel rear-facing camera with upgraded microphone array so that users can record video that not only looks good but sounds good too. The Lumia Icon also includes a 5-inch display and a quad-core processor that rivals today’s most popular Android smartphones.
Unfortunately, pricing and availability remain a mystery. The Lumia Icon is available on Verizon’s network for $149.99. It makes sense that the Lumia 930 would hit that price point as well. That pricing does include a two-year service agreement.
